HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR CURRENT BROADBAND
Some quick tips which may improve your current broadband
BT has provided advice and guidance on problems within a user’s premises which may slow down broadband. There may be some work that you can do on your own computer and within your own household to improve your current broadband service and these are BT’s recommendations of actions that you can take yourself.
How to fix slow broadband speeds
Please follow the instructions carefully and in the order shown. Although these steps are not particularly difficult if you experience difficulties we would advise you to stop and seek some IT advice to be able to complete the tests.
You may also want to purchase a BT Broadband Accelerator. Although a speed increase is not guaranteed, tests on 36,000 lines showed that an I-Plate will boost line speeds on average by 1.5Mbps. An I-plate is free to BT broadband customers, otherwise typical costs are around £6.
